Gardening Week 7

This week we are creating our own seedlings :) Our keen gardeners chose carrots, onion, spring onion, lettuce, chilli and sugar snap peas YUM.

It is truly wonderful to see the empathy our children show to all living creatures that share their environment.

We are learning so much whilst enjoying being outside. Our minds NEED to explore, play and learn. It is also a great learning experience for everyone, whilst tapping into our little ones curiosity.

I can see confidence growing, enjoyment of sharing, fine and gross motor skills developing and SMILES. LOTS OF FUN.

Well done team!

The Bey Blade designs keep coming

We have been using our shapes for geometry to make some bey blade creations, obviously we have created monsters! It is a bit of a craze at the moment.
Here are some more of their designs....
I hope you guys never stop creating.  Your designs are awesome.

Gardening Update

Here is an update from Abi on how the garden is going....

Our garden is doing great! Thank you to the gardening team this week, great effort and lots of fun enjoyed by everyone. Unfortunately Bunnings could not attend this week but we still got stuck in.

Can you name our gardeners this week? You may spot your little one in the photos. Some of Room 18 are naturals in this environment and it's wonderful to see their interest develop and flourish.

This week we cared for our rocket, tomatoes, cucumber, beans, parsley, lettuce and marigolds by weeding, watering, and carefully placing eggshells around our seedlings to stop the slugs and snails in their slithering paths!. Next week we will be creating some new seedlings, carrots, lettuce, and sugar snap peas :) YUM. Our team enjoyed tasting our rocket and parsely, whilst innovative water features were created and a worm maze! Tumananko you were the first to find a worm again, well done :)

If you hve anything you wourld like to share with us in our garden please let me know, our kids are loving it.

Thanks from The Gardening Team :)

Bring your togs tomorrow....

Just in case you are lucky enough to be visiting a class that has swimming in the afternoon, bring your togs.
We have the 4 year olds visiting from pre-school tomorrow afternoon, the classroom will be extra busy.  Please be patient and understanding.
This is the little ones first visit to primary school in preparation for starting school next year, they need to see lots of friendly faces.
Thanks for your support.

The Bey Blade design competiton

So, some of the critters wanted to colour in some bey blade pages and we thought wouldn't it be better if we designed our own bey blade, instead of just colouring in???
Here are some of their creations, the class will vote on their favourite on Friday and we will send the favourite off to the makers to see if they can make it.
They can be drawn, made out of lego, duplo, shapes, kliko, connex, paper, cardboard, leaves ...anything.
I think you will agree that their creations are pretty impressive.

Those book character photos...

Miss Ryan found them, here they are...
